Home Made Diet for Adult Dogs

Ingredients

1/3 lb (raw weight) chicken (no skin), or very lean beef, cooked well

2 cups cooked white rice white

1 Tablespoon Canola Oil

¼ tsp salt substitute (Nu Salt)

5 Bone meal Tablets OR 1¼ tsp Bone meal Powder

This is enough food for one 30lb dog for 1 day. Increase or decrease the amount according to your dog's weight. You can freeze in meal sized portions in freezer bags to keep fresh.

If feeding homemade food please supplement with a pet multivitamin daily. We have flavored ones available.

Nu Salt substitute is available at grocery stores, in the salt aisle. It is a source of potassium. Do NOT use regular salt instead.

Bone meal is available at health food stores, it is needed for the trace minerals it supplies, as well as calcium. Please do not use another type of calcium

This is enough food for about a 30lb puppy for one day, depending on age and activity level. Increase or decrease the amount according to your dog's weight. You can freeze in meal sized portions in freezer bags to keep fresh.

½ egg, hard boiled and chopped

4 teaspoons Canola oil

⅛ teaspoon salt substitute (Nu Salt)

3 Bone meal tablets or ¾ teaspoon Bone meal powder

This is enough food for an active 12 lb cat for one day. Smaller and less active cats will need less. You can freeze in meal sized portions in freezer bags to keep fresh.

If feeding homemade food please supplement with a multivitamin made for cats on a daily basis. We have flavored ones available.

Dog Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups wheat flour

½ cup wheat germ

½ cup brewers yeast

3 tablespoons Canola oil

1 cup chicken broth

1/6 tsp salt

Garlic powder for flavor 

Directions

Mix flour, wheat germ, yeast, and salt.  Mix in oil and chicken broth, and flavorings.  Work dough into a ½ inch slab, and cut out shapes.  Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.  Turn heat off and allow to dry for 2 hours.  Store in refrigerator.
