Frankie, sitting cat

Whether your pet has separation anxiety, or just needs some help with potty training, we are committed to helping you find a solution. We start with a physical exam to rule out physical causes. Then Dr. Fondren and our in-house trainer, Katie, Certified Pet Dog Trainer will develop an individualized program to help you help your pet. We work with both dogs and cats, and have access to a Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist as well.

One of the most important things you can do to help prevent behavior problems in your new puppy is to socialize, socialize, socialize! A puppy should meet all different kinds of people before he is 6 months old. Dogs who don’t meet men, or kids, or people in uniforms when they are young may develop phobias or aggression to that particular group of people. Take your puppy with you to safe areas and let people give your puppy treats. Dogs have certain periods when they are learning how to interact with people and other dogs. Missed socialization at a young age is very hard to make up Boone and Sami get treatsor when they are older.

Another critical aspect to behavioral health is having the right tools. We can assess your situation and recommend the right product. We are proud to carry the Gentle Leader head collar and harness, a wonderful tool for dogs that pull and lunge. We also have a wide variety of toys to stimulate your dogs mind and prevent the boredom that can lead to destructiveness.

Behavior problems are the number one reason for euthanasia in the country. Don’t let this happen to you! Call and schedule an appointment today!
