Meet Our Staff

Mary Fondren, DVM, Hospital Director
Graduating from NCSU, I’ve lived and practiced small animal veterinary in Palm Beach County since 1987. I’ve owned my award-winning Fondren Pet Care Center since 1997. I strive to stay abreast of the newest medical information by going well beyond the required continuing education hours and enjoy the challenge of new technologies.
I have a special interest in dermatology (skin), Opthamology (eyes), and dentistry. I am a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA), Palm Beach County Veterinary Society (PBCVS), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), Veterinary Surgical Laser Society (VSLS), American Heartworm Society (AHS), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), American Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS).
My hobbies include spending pool time with my dogs and husband, playing with my wild, destructive cats, reading, photography, and going out to dinner.
Katie Morrell, CPDT, Receptionist
and her dog, Tara
I've been working in the veterinary field for over a decade, and here at Fondren Pet Care Center for 8 years now. I'm a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT), and have a special interest in animal behavior and pet nutrition. I hope one day to do K9 search and rescue. My current pet, Tara, is a wonderful mixed breed I adopted from an animal shelter. I also have a special fondness for Weimaraners, Belgian Malinois, and Hemingway (poly dactyl) cats.
Jilda Pearson, Receptionist
with Petunia a hedge hog
I was born and raised in Boston and moved to Florida 8 years ago. I have been working at Fondren Pet Care Center since March 2004, and still love every minute. I am currently enrolled in St. Petersburg College to get my veterinary technician degree. I’ve had every sort of animal from a cat to a ferret to a hedge hog named 'Petunia'. I live in Jupiter with my Old English sheepdog, Baby. I like taking him to the dog park and he loves when his “girlfriend”, Tara, Katie’s dog, comes over to play. We are very close here, so on off days, you can probably find me hanging out with another staff member!

Ashley Giammarco, Veterinarian Assistant
and her dog, Bandit
I was born and raised in Palm Beach Gardens and currently reside in Jupiter. When I was eight years old I began working with horses and realized my love for animals. I joined Fondren Pet Care Center in June of 2004 as a Kennel Technician and have since been promoted to Veterinarian Assistant. I am currently going to school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). When I am not working or doing homework I enjoy boating, fishing, snorkeling, going out to Moroso Motorsports Park and having good times with good people.

Jason Brown, Kennel Technician
I’m originally from a small farm town in central Illinois. I spent most of my time on my grandparent’s cattle farm before moving here to Florida. I am a kennel technician and enjoy helping out with the pets and learning as I go. I currently attend The Florida Culinary Institute for International Baking and Pastry, and aspire to be a certified pastry chef. My co-workers claim my chocolates I create are to die for.

Suleka Koya, Veterinarian Assistant
My name is Suleka and I am originally from Sacramento, California. I moved to West Palm Beach about 16 years ago. I currently reside with my black Lab, Bugsy, and my cat Cartman (who is diabolical). I enjoy spending spare time with my boyfriend Jason and my family. On weekends you can find me soaking up the sun at the beach and I also love to cook. I have been working in the veterinary field for about 4 years now and joined the Fondren Pet Care team in August of 2006.

Jo-Ann Dawson, Receptionist and her dog, Meghann
I was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and I resided in Lakeville. I relocated to Florida in 1999 where I started my career in the animal field. I worked as a Zoo Keeper in the Education Department at the Zoo in Naples where I worked with various exotic animals. In 2001 I moved to Lake Worth and I am now a part of the Fondren Pet Care Family. I can always be found hanging around with my daughter Tiffany, husband Brian and of course my 10 year old wire-haired mini-dachshund Meghann.

Becki Berry, Veterinarian Assistant with clinic cat Jumper
I was born in Maine where I started in the veterinary field almost 7 years ago. I moved to Denver Colorado and loved it but had to go where winter does not exist. When I’m not working I spend time with my husband 2 cats, 2 birds & rat. I also love to ride horses, fish & cook.
